An interesting discovery by eminent physicist Krarl MeinCrips PhD BSC TSB, that quantum waves of a particle may, if correctly focused, make equal probabilites of a particle existing at one of a number of points arranged in almost any shape. So far, equations for tubes, spheres, and rods have been worked out.

What does all that mean? Well, electromagnetic energy (light and radio waves) can be moulded into one of a set of shapes: a tube, open at either, neither or both ends with the generator at one end, spheres with the generator at the centre, and rods with the generator at one end.

And yet, I hear you ask, what has this made possible?

Well, if we get a lot of electromagnetic energy - say a laser beam - it can be suspended in the shape of a rod, making something like a Star Wars light sabre. Laser light can be moulded into a tube with both ends closed, which is filled with plasma; the magnetic forces of the laser will hold the plasma in, making a much more deadly light sabre. A tube open at one end could be used to direct plasma, making plasma weapons and fusion reactors possible, and a sphere of energy could vaporise anything approaching a flying vehicle. This would only be practical for flying vehicles, or else the laser would vaporise the ground on which the vehicle rested - decreasing the road holding somewhat!

Ammunition

Plasma cartridges: about the size of a buckshot cartridge, is composed of a closed-ends tube of force containing about 1g of plasma. The generator is powered by the plasma itself, so after a month they do half damage; after 2 months, one quarter damage; after x months, 0.5/x damage. Cost: 10c each. {-5}

Equipment

Plasma cartridge charger: Can fill one cartridge per hour. About the size of a fridge, however, and needs to be plugged in to function - it will use 1c worth of electricity to charge each cartridge. Cost: 40c. {2}

Air vehicle energy bubble generator: Takes up 1m2 of space. Cost: 10c+1c per floor space (m2) unit of the vehicle it is to protect. When active, surrounds the vehicle with a sphere of suspended laser energy. All bullets will be evaporated, all explosives etc. will explode 5m away from the craft. Ramming a target will not damage the shielded vehicle, but will bore a hole right through the target. If the other vehicle is shielded, however - a slight glow around the vehicle is a giveaway - then both vehicles are damaged as if rammed by the other. Please note: your bullets are destroyed by the bubble, too, so switch it off the action before firing! {2}
